Advanced Open Water Diver Course
Deeper into the Adventure

Scuba Schools' Advanced Open Water Diver Program is an adventure designed to give you practical experience in a number of specialty diving areas. Unlike the Open Water Course, The Advanced Course involves no written testing and very little academic preparation. An experience oriented course, the main focus is to get you in the water having fun. At the same time you will develop the navigational, and other advanced skills needed to make your diving safer and more enjoyable.

The Advanced Course can be completed in as little as two days.

It consists of five dives during which you will be introduced to the following activities. Three required dives will work on Buoyancy Control, Underwater Navigation & Deep Diving techniques.

In addition, you will choose three more elective dives from the Specialty dive program. These may include such exciting dives as Wreck diving, Boat diving, Underwater Naturalist, Drift diving, Multilevel diving, Night Diving, Altitude Diving and much, much more.

All Advanced Course dives will be applied not only to the Advanced Open Water Diver Certification, but to the appropriate Specialty Certification as well. Upon completion of the Advanced Course you will already have taken the first step toward five different Specialty Certifications and the prestigious Master Scuba Diver Certification.

Unlike the Open Water Course, The Advanced Course involves no written testing and very little academic preparation. You will begin by reading the requisite study materials at home on your own time. Once at the dive site your instructor will review the material prior to each training dive. The objective of the course is to give you as much in water time as possible in which to perfect your diving skills.

Dive Requirements:
Advanced certification requires a minimum of five dives to be done in as few as two days. If you have Instructor signed documentation of Advanced Level dives, we will credit you with the dives completed. You may not need all five dives to obtain the Advanced Certification.

To begin you will need the following Advanced Diver Course materials:

Adventures in Diving; Advanced Diver Manual: $33.00

Course Tuition $125
Tuition covers course enrollment and registration fees, Knowledge Development quizzes and PADI Certificate of Referral Training Record.

Water Training Fee: $25 per dive.

Advanced Certification requires 5 dives. If completing all 5 dives with us the total water training fee would be $125. If you have Instructor signed documentation of Advanced Level dives, we will credit you with the dives completed. You would, in this case, only need to complete the remaining dives in order to obtain the Advanced Certification.

At our Monterey, CA facility, on the second day of the program we will venture out into Monterey Bay for the course, deep dive. If the dive is conducted from our zodiac inflatable, there will be no additional charge. At times we have the option to conduct the dive aboard one of the Monterey dive charter boats. In that case, there will be a boat charter fee of $85 over and above the course fees.
