BEGINNER OPEN WATER CERTIFICATION COURSE

Our PADI 5 Star Open Water Diver Course begins with an interesting eLearning Home Study program. You should plan to spend 10 to 15 hours on the home studies. Upon completion of the home studies you will be ready to participate in the swimming pool/confined water practice where you will learn about the skills and equipment necessary for safe, enjoyable diving. The pool training will take one evening. The pool facility is located right next door to our shop on Westlake Ave N. Once the pool training is completed you will progress to two days of diving at recreational dive sites throughout Puget Sound. Upon successful completion of the training weekend you will become certified as a a PADI Open Water Diver. All participants are responsible for their own transportation of themselves and their diving equipment from the Dive Center to the dive sites and back. 2 or more divers receive 10% discount off the tuition portion of the program. Military, Law Enforcement and Fire Protection personnel receive 15% discount off the tuition portion of the program. Please contact us to receive this discount. Swimming ability? If you cannot swim, please do not register for this program. You must be able to swim to participate in this SCUBA Course. At the pool training you will be asked to swim 200 yards without stopping and you must be able to tread water, or float for 10 minutes without stopping or holding onto the side of the pool or another diver. If you cannot complete these requirements you will not be able to move on to the next portion of the training. Once you have practiced your swimming you will be required to re-do the pool training and there will be a reschedule charge of $195. Please do not waste your time and money on this program if you cannot complete the swim evaluation noted above. Our friends at Safe and Sound Swimming can assist you in polishing up your swimming ability prior to the SCUBA course. If you are unsure of your ability, contact Safe and Sound and make an appointment to go in for a swim assessment. Once you are sure you can pass the swim evaluation we welcome you to join us.
